Operatives of the Bayelsa State Police Command have arrested one of the suspected killers of former Divisional Police Officer, Bako Angbashim, a Superintendent of Police of the Ahoada Division, Rivers State.
Angbashim was callously murdered on Friday, September 8, 2023, the dreaded cult gang laid an ambush for him and his men while returning from a raid at Odiemudie forest in Ahoada East of the state.
The cultists reportedly captured Angbashim who sustained bullet injuries during the gun duel after his men beat a retreat when they ran out of ammunition.
They thereafter murdered him, dismembered his body, and made a mockery of video of his body parts.
In a statement, the command’s spokesperson, CSP Asinim Butswat, identified the suspect as 43-year-old Onyekachi Ikowa, the second in command to TuBaba of the dreaded Icelanders cult leader.
According to the command’s image-maker, the suspect was arrested on Saturday, November 18, 2023, “based on credible intelligence that he was hibernating in Yenagoa”, the Bayelsa State capital, and has been handed over to the Rivers State Police Command.
