The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Protocol, Mr Sunday Kotor, has died, triggering shock and grief among political associates and members of his community.
Sources within the Delta State Government confirmed the development, noting that the late protocol aide reportedly collapsed during a public ceremony.
Although details surrounding the incident remain sketchy as of press time, he was later pronounced dead, according to accounts from senior government insiders.
Mr Kotor, a respected grassroots mobiliser and political figure, hailed from Okwagbe Waterside community in Ughievwen Kingdom, in Ughelli South Local Government Area.
His sudden passing has sparked an outpouring of condolences from political stakeholders, community leaders, and residents who described him as dedicated and accessible in the discharge of his duties.
Officials of the Delta State Government have yet to release an official statement clarifying the circumstances of his death.
However, close associates say arrangements are underway for further briefings and possible funeral plans.
