Ekredjebor community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State was agog on Saturday, August 9, 2025, as the Parish of St Lazarus Christ Church marked its first anniversary with a car presentation to the Primate, Most Reverend Jonathan Arhavwarien, and the dedication of a guest house.

The presiding priest of the parish, Venerable Alex Arhavwarien, popularly known as Holy Ghost Money, flanked by his wife, church dignitaries, and members, presented the papers of a Super Utility Vehicle to the Primate and General Overseer.

Venerable Arhavwarien said the gesture was to appreciate the Primate’s unwavering commitment to the ministry and to ease his frequent travels for church work.

“I’m touched by your commitment to God’s work. You do ministry with joy because you are always happy. But seeing you driving a Siena bus from place to place moved me and my wife. So, with support from others, we pulled resources together to purchase this car for you,” he said.

Visibly emotional as he received the gift, the Primate exclaimed in Urhobo: “Otiona jirhe we”, meaning “I still have a child who can wipe away my tears.”

He revealed that he once sold his house to fix his Siena when it developed a fault that cost him ₦5 million.

“Now my son has gifted me a Jeep,” he said, his voice trembling with gratitude.

Speaking on the anniversary theme, “Unlimited Grace,” Most Revd Arhavwarien highlighted repentance from sin and obedience to God’s word as keys to enjoying divine favour and uncommon blessings.

The Bishop-elect of Ewu and Ughelli Diocese, Venerable Andrew Arhavwarien; Mama of the Parish, Pastor Queen Arhavwarien; and Planning Committee Chairman, Honourable Rukevwe Avweromre, expressed optimism for greater achievements in the years ahead.

Members of the parish also testified that the church had been a blessing to them within its first year.

The event featured the dedication of the parish guest house, the cutting of the anniversary cake, and musical ministrations from renowned Urhobo gospel artiste, Evang. Vwede Cooper.

Dignitaries present included Chairman of the Environmental Task Force, Olorogun Godspower Asiuwhu; APC chieftain, Olorogun Efeviroro Edjuto; bishops, and other church leaders.
