Nigeria’s Super Falcons have progressed to the semifinals of the ongoing Women’s African Cup of Nations following a hard-fought 1 nil victory over the Indomitable Lioness of Cameroon.
In a keenly contested affair played in Casablanca, Rasheedat Ajibade’s 56th-minute header proved to be the decider for the nine-time African champions, who also booked their spot in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup scheduled for Australia and New Zealand.
The Super Falcons will next take on hosts, Morocco, in the semi-finals.
The West African side is aiming to secure a record-extending 10 WAFCON titles.
