Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday evening continued their winning ways in Group C of Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with a 2-1 win over Cape Verde.
Cape Verde took the lead in the 19th minute of the match with a goal scored by Dylan Tavares.
Napoli striker Victor Osihmen levelled the scoreline at the 30th minute after a defensive blunder just before halftime.
When both teams returned in the second half, Kenny Santos conceded an own goal for Cape Verde.
With the defeat over Cape Verde, the Super Eagles now top Group C with six points with Liberia second on the top with three points.
Cape Verde is third on the top with the Central African Republic maintaining the fourth position.
The Super Eagles had on Friday, September 3, 2021, defeated Liberia 2-0 in the match played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos State.
Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho scored both goals in the encounter.
