Paris Saint-Germain Football Club have parted ways with Mauricio Pochettino after eighteen months of being in charge of the team.
Pochettino’s sack comes after he failed to lead the Ligue 1 giant to Champions League success.
PSG and Pochettino agreed to part ways after a meeting that took place last week, according to The Athletic.
PSG won the Ligue 1 title last season but failed to knock out Real Madrid from the Champions League and got eliminated in the Round of 16.
The only thing that remains unclear is what kind of agreement the two parties have reached concerning the termination of his contract, one which runs until the summer of 2023.
The Sporting director Leonardo will also leave the club, whose owners are willing to carry out a team and staff rebuilding.
The former Tottenham and Southampton boss is leaving PSG after leading the club to the French title, winning by 15 points – the largest margin of a title-winning team in the top five leagues.
Meanwhile, Zinedine Zidane and Jose Mourinho are on the shortlist for the managerial role at PSG, says Paper Talk.
