Delta Queens secured their first away win in the 2020/2021 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) following a 1-0 win in Oshogbo against Osun Babes.

Delta Queens have been hunting for their first away win in their last previous away games but continued to share the points.

The first half opened with the visitors having more control of play which paid off in the fourth minute of play as Comfort Folorunsho stylishly tucked in the ball in the net of the opponents after a super free-kick just in front of box 18.

The goal woke up the lions in Osun babes as they came all out but could not break a resilient Delta Queens defence and the goal post solidly mounted by skipper Ihuoma Onuegbu.

The first half ended with Comfort goal making the difference.

Delta Queens almost doubled the lead but for an unpardonable miss by new girl Peace Abbey in the 56th minute of play so the visitors had to settle for a narrow 0-1 win to pick first away win and move a step up the NWFL log to second position behind high-fliers  Bayelsa Queens.

With the win, Delta Queens now remains unbeaten in seven of its last outing and is billed to host Pelican Star in Matchday 12 before they play city rivals, Royal Queens in matchday 13 to launch the end of the first round in this season’s NWFL.
