Governor-elect, Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has said his electoral victory at the gubernatorial elections was a victory for all Deltans.
Rt Hon Oborevwori who is the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, stated this in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South during a novelty football match organized in his honour to celebrate the 18 March 2023 PDP governorship victory in the state.
The governor-elect, Sheriff Oborevwori at the ceremony witnessed by some political leaders and supporters of the PDP, said that he was committed to running an all-inclusive government.
Represented by the member representing Aniocha South in the State House of Assembly, Austin Chikezie who is the Chairman, Assembly Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources, stated that the support of Deltans to his victory of massive.
While thanking the people, including indigenes of Aniocha South for the confidence reposed on him, Rt Hon Oborevwori urged all critical stakeholders to join forces with him towards building a new Delta.
The Governor elect promised to spread more dividends of democracy across the state in line with his MORE agenda.
Rt Hon Oborevwori who took the kick off of the football tournament, commended the organizers of the event for celebrating the PDP victory with the football tournament.
A PDP stalwart and former Chairman of Aniocha South Local said the football match was to celebrate the Governor elect on his electoral victory and to reaffirm the People’s confidence in him.
Hon Adigwe represented by the councilor ward three, Ogwashi-Uku, Honourable Jeffrey Nwaduokei, assured Oborevwori that the people of Aniocha South would support his administration to succeed in the task ahead.
Meanwhile the novelty match between Bright Stars football club of Ogwashi-Uku and Old secretariat Trainers football club of Asaba ended in a one- one draw.
The match which saw Bright Stars Football club of Ogwashi-Uku taking the lead in the first half of the keenly contested encounter, had the John Tata led Old Secretariat Trainers Football Club of Asaba drawing level in the second half with both sides failing to score a winner in regulation time.
The novelty match played at the Ikelike Primary School had supporters, friends and well-wishers of the governor-elect in attendance.
