Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, on Saturday, overtook Nigerian legend Austin Jay-Jay Okocha’s assists record in the Premier League.

Ndidi achieved the feat after registering two assists in Leicester City’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

He provided the assist for Jamie Vardy and Stephy Mavididi.

Manager Steve Cooper started Wilfred Ndidi, traditionally a defensive midfielder, in the attacking midfield role right behind centre-forward Jamie Vardy, and the two players combined for the first goal of the game.

Recall that Okocha scored 14 goals and provided ten assists in 125 Premier League games for Bolton Wanderers before he left the club.
