Argentina forward, Lionel Messi has agreed in principle to a 2-year contract with French club, Paris Saint-Germain F.C.
Messi had on Thursday parted ways with Barcelona after talks on extending his contract with the Nou camp failed over what was described as financial and structural obstacles.
At a farewell press conference at the weekend, Messi said: “This is the most difficult moment of my career, no doubt. I’ve had many difficult, hard moments, many defeats, but then you could return to training and get revenge. Now I cannot return, my time at this club is over. So it is the most difficult moment, yes.”
Messi spent 21 years with the Spanish club.
He has won the Ballon d’Or in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2019.
