The founder of Sotitobire Praising Chapel, Prophet Babatunde Alfa, whose life imprisonment conviction was upturned on Friday, December 3, 2021, has been released from Olokuta Correctional Centre (Prison) in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
Akinyele Omoware, counsel to Alfa confirmed his release from the facility Tuesday afternoon, December 7, 2021.
An Appeal Court sitting in Akure, the Ondo State capital had on Friday upturned the life imprisonment conviction of Prophet Alfa by an Ondo State High Court.
The High Court had in its judgment of October 6, 2020, sentenced Alfa and five other members of his Sotitobire Praising Chapel to life imprisonment for the mysterious disappearance of a toddler, Gold Kolawole.
