The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), in Saturday’s Anambra governorship election, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has sustained his chances of winning the election with a win in ten out of eleven Local Government Areas results that have been released.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the results of the following eleven out of the twenty-one Local Government Areas of the state: Orumba, Nnewi North, Njikoka, Onitsha North, Idemili, Ayamelum, Anambra East, Aniocha, Oyi, Awka South and Dunukofia.
Soludo lost Nnewi North Local Government Area to the candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Ifeanyi Ubah with 3,369 votes to 6,485 votes respectively.
The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) defeated Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in their Local Government Areas.
The collation of results continues at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Awka, Anambra State.
