Senator Ede Dafinone (Delta Central) has welcomed the launch of the National Counter-Terrorism Centre’s Strategic Plan (2025–2030), calling it an important step toward reinforcing Nigeria’s security system and boosting national resilience.
He made the remarks in Abuja during the official unveiling of the plan, an event attended by the Senate President, senior security chiefs, policymakers, and other national figures.
Organised by the Office of the National Security Adviser, the gathering brought together experts and stakeholders to outline a unified strategy for tackling terrorism and violent extremism.
Dafinone noted that the new framework prioritises better intelligence coordination, stronger operational effectiveness, and community-driven peacebuilding — areas he considers essential for confronting the country’s shifting security threats.
He described the plan as “a major step forward” and restated his support for national efforts aimed at safeguarding citizens and stabilising the country.
According to him, he remains committed to backing measures that enhance public safety, protect communities, and strengthen security institutions.
The release of the 2025–2030 strategy has been widely viewed as a renewed, coordinated push to improve Nigeria’s counter-terrorism capability and deepen cooperation across security agencies, communities, and government bodies.
