Ughelli main market in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta has been sealed off.
NewsNet gathered that the market which has operated for decades was sealed on the orders of the chairman of Ughelli North Council, Olorogun Godwin Adode.
The closure of the Ughelli market followed the recent crisis that rocked it over claims of ownership and collection of revenue between Otor-Iwhreko and Ekiugbo communities.
At least three persons were reportedly shot dead in the last week as a result of the clash that erupted over which community should collect levy at the market.
In the meantime, the Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom has fixed an emergency meeting between the feuding communities of Otor-Iwueko and Ekiugbo.
The meeting is part of efforts by the traditional ruler of Ughelli Kingdom to resolve the issues at stake and restore peace in the areas.
A top official of Ughelli community who spoke on condition anonymity said that the leaderships of Otor-Iwueko, Ekuigbo and other persons linked to the crisis have been invited by the Ovie of Ughelli kingdom to resolve the matter.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at 11am.
