The Delta State Police Command says the fire that gutted its control engine room on Thursday(April 22, 2021) was caused by suspected electrical spark from the communication engine room.
In a statement, the Command’s Acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, said the fire outbreak affected only a part of the control room.
Edafe said men of the Fire Service swiftly intervened to put out the fire, when they were called immediately to save the situation.
He said the Delta State Commissioner of Police has “urged members of the public to ignore any rumour contrary to the actual fact stated above”.
The Police Image-maker, however, disclosed that investigation into the incident has comenced.
