Palpable fear in Delta community of Uwheru as unknown gunmen abduct PG

Uneasy calm now pervades Uwheru  Community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State following the abduction of the President General of the community, Chief Macpherson Igbedi by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.

A prominent native of the community who does not want his name to be mentioned in print told NewsNet Nigeria that Chief Macpherson Igbedi was abducted in the community on Epia road which is under construction before 2 pm yesterday Friday.

Narrating how the incident happened our source said the gunmen swooped on the community PG in a commando style while he was monitoring ongoing work, and beat him up before whisking him away to an unknown destination.

The information that the gunmen behind the incident may be uniformed men of “RRS” is yet to be verified by this medium.

This medium understands that the Police Division and the Police Area Command in Ughelli are yet to confirm the involvement of their men in the act.

As of the time of filing this report, calls put across to the spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, for comments on the incident were not answered.

Meanwhile, the people of Uwheru  Community have appealed to the police authorities in Delta State to swiftly come to the rescue of their abducted President General, Chief Macpherson Igbedi.
