President Muhammadu and the Service Chiefs in Nigeria have come under serious backlash over the recent killings of innocent worshippers at the St Francis Catholic Church, Owo in Ondo State.
Addressing journalists in Warri, Delta State, a Niger Delta leader, Dr Julius Babogha slammed Buhari and the security agencies in the country for the unprovoked attack and killing of innocent people of Owo while worshipping on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
Babogha who described the Owo church killings and others in parts of the country lately as a clear indication of the collapse of the nation’s security architecture called on President Buhari and his service chiefs to overhaul the security network of the country.
He pointed out that it was shameful that till date no suspect has been arrested in connection with the killings.
Babogha said, “The attack on worshippers at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo calls for serious concern and also to all Christians to be conscious at all times even at church services.
“If the Federal Government was serious about the killings, why is it that no arrest has been made? The government felt undisturbed by the massacre of innocent citizens. Or is it because it happened in the South-West, so it is no government business and everywhere is silent as if nothing happened?
“Government has to be proactive in their responsibility in ensuring that the country is safe for her citizens.
“A situation where everyone will be sleeping with one eye open for fear of the unknown is the biggest embarrassment you can think of. This is shameful.”
