The Department of State Services (DSS) has approved only 10 media houses in Nigeria to cover the resumed trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Kanu’s trial will resume today Monday, July 26, barring any hitch.
The names of the media houses are contained in a letter to the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Abuja, dated July 23, 2021, and signed by the Chief Information Officer, Catherine Oby Christopher.
Kanu was first arraigned in court on Tuesday, June 29 after he was arrested by Interpol in Kenya and brought back to Nigeria on Sunday, June 27, according to sources.
The Federal High Court judge, Justice Binta Nyako, had ruled then that Kanu should be remanded in the DSS custody until Monday, July 26 for the continuation of the trial.
