The Chairman, Isuikwuato Traditional Rulers Advisory Council, Eze Uwadiegwu Ogbonnaya has asked the federal government to first declare a state of emergency in Borno state and other troubled parts of northern Nigeria before contemplating doing so in Anambra state.
Recall that the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, had on Tuesday in Abuja hinted that the federal government is considering the possibility of declaring a state of emergency in Anambra because of the growing insecurity in the state.
Speaking at the ongoing 7th Triennial National Delegates Conference of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) holding at Umuahia, the Abia state capital, Eze Ogbonnaya opined that eastern region of the country is peaceful despite recent happenings that tend to paint the region in bad light.
Eze Ogbonnaya, who is also the Ojim 1 of Umuanyi Autonomous, Uturu said the East has high number of millionaires and billionaires with huge investments in the region that cannot afford to let their investments go down.
