The Ovie of Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom in Delta State, HRM Clement Oghenerukevwe Ikolo, Urhukpe 1 has been released from military custody.
The traditional ruler was released by the Nigerian Defence Headquarters on Friday morning after more than two weeks in their custody to the member representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Ede Dafinone, at the military headquarters in Abuja.
The Ovie of Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom was declared wanted by the military alongside other suspects following the killing of 17 soldiers last month by yet-to-be-identified gunmen at Okuama community in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Recall that the slain soldiers who have since been buried met their untimely death while allegedly on a peace mission at Okuama community which was having a lingering communal conflict with its neighbouring Okoloba community in Bomadi Local Government Area of the state.
