Delta State Government has urged eligible and qualified Deltans to apply for the ongoing admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA, Kaduna; for the 76th Regular Course which commenced on Monday, 30th October 2023, to end on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

In the same vein, Interested and qualified candidates of Delta State origin are also advised to apply online for the Nigerian Navy Special Enlistment Exercise, for the Direct Short Service Commission Course 29, which commenced on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, to close on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

A statement by the Chief Executive Officer of Delta State Orientation Bureau, DSOB, and Executive Assistant on Communication to the Governor, Dr Wilfred Latimore Oghenesivbe said qualified Deltans are advised to visit the application portal on the website of the Nigerian Defence Academy at; www.ndaapplications.net to register by clicking or selecting the “PURCHASE ACCESS CODE” to fill their details and pay the sum of N3,500 (Three Thousand, Five Hundred Naira) only to obtain ORDER ID and REMITA RETRIEVAL REFERENCE (RRR) Code.

The state government further stated that all applicants must apply for the 2024 Joint Admissions And Matriculation Examination (JAMB), and choose NDA as their first choice of institution, adding that, applicants are expected to also sit for the JAMB UNIFIED TERTIARY MATRICULATION EXAMINATION (UTME).

It said, that only those who scored 210 points for Engineering and 180 points for Arts, Social Science, and Science courses shall be enabled to print the Screening Test Admission Card and be considered for the screening test, to hold on Saturday, 25th May, 2024; and the usual venue for Delta State candidates is the Army Day Secondary School, Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST), Ugbowo, Benin City, Edo State.

The statement further added that candidates admitted into the NDA for the 76th Regular Course will undergo both military and academic training as Officer Cadets for a duration of five (5) years, and on successful completion of the extensive training, graduands will earn honours degree in a core discipline (i.e. B.Sc, B.Eng, B.A), while on graduation, they will also earn a Presidential Commission into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

In the same vein, Oghenesivbe disclosed that online registration for the Special Enlistment Exercise for Direct Short Service Commission Course 29 of the Nigerian Navy, which commenced on Wednesday, 27th December 2023, is expected to close on Wednesday, 7th February 2024, saying that the process is free, and as such, applicants should refrain from giving money to any individual under any guise, and directed applicants to register online at www.joinnigeriannavy.com within the designated period.

Delta State Government noted that there had been gradual decline in applicants from the state for admission into NDA, enlistments and recruitments into the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force and the Nigerian Police Force, and urged qualified youth and Deltans to have a change of heart by taking advantage of the ongoing admission and enlistment exercise to serve the nation via Armed Forces of Nigeria.

In light of the above, the Delta State Orientation Bureau, DSOB, has been mandated by the State government to embark on a holistic sensitization of citizens via multifaceted strategies and the mass media, so as to upscale the number of applicants into the Armed Forces and the Police, going forward.

“The state governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori is worried over the rapid decline in the number of Delta applicants for admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy, NDA, as well as applicants for direct enlistments and recruitments into the Armed Forces and the Police.

“Qualified Deltans, especially our Youth, should see the NDA, direct enlistments and recruitments into the Armed Forces and the Police, as potential opportunities for key employments and professional career development.

“His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, wants more Deltans to serve the nation through the various armed forces and the Police, and as such, qualified citizens should immediately apply online at the NDA application portal via the website; www.ndaapplications.net for Degree Programmes. The application will end on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

“Those interested in the Nigerian Navy Special Enlistment Exercise are to visit; www.joinnigeriannavy.com. Application to end on Wednesday 7th February, 2024.

“Joining the Armed Forces and the Police is strongly recommended by the State government, as it directly reflects the job and wealth creation objectives of this administration, as encapsulated in the MORE agenda,” the statement added.
