The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi has restated that the welfare of both serving and deceased officers is part of the primary interest of the Inspector General of Police, IGP.
CP Olufemi stated this Wednesday, April 24, 2024, while presenting on behalf of IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, cheques of Forty-Seven Million, Eight Hundred and Twenty-Seven Thousand, Five Hundred and Twenty-Nine Naira (N47,827,529) to twenty-two families of deceased officers who died while in active service.
The cheques issued to the next of kin of seven deceased officers are part of the IGP Family Welfare Scheme, Group Life Assurance, and Group Personal Accident Insurance Schemes.
The CP who was assisted by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Administration DCP Tokunbo Afolabi, while presenting the cheques noted that the welfare of both serving and late officers is part of the interest of the Inspector General of Police.
He also appreciated the gesture by the IGP as the cheques will in no small way act as a boost to the families and also a way of letting them know that though their loved ones are no more, the Force did not forget their sacrifices.
One of the beneficiaries thanked the IGP for his magnanimity noting that the money given to them will be used judiciously.
