The House of Representatives has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to declare a state of emergency on security in the country following the rising cases of killings by suspected bandits and kidnappers in the country.
This resolution was taken by the House after a closed session at Tuesday’s plenary that lasted for over four hours and presided by the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila.
The House also invited the National Security Adviser and Service Chiefs to brief the House on the state of insecurity in the country.
The House had invited the Chief of Army Staff recently for questioning over allegations of missing funds meant to buy ammunitions to fight insurgents and bandits.
