Authorities of Uvwie Local Government Area in Delta State have enjoined all stakeholders, management of companies, traditional and community leaders as well as corporate bodies and officials to deal only with the ten-member Caretaker Committee of Ekpan Development Committee, EDC.

In a statement made available to newsmen and signed by the Chairman, Uvwie Local Government, Honourable Ramson Onoyake in a statement he personally signed reminded all stakeholders in the area that the former executive of the Ekpan Development Committee, led by Mr Stephen Akemu, was dissolved with immediate effect by unanimous resolution of Uvwie Local Government Peace and Security Committee meeting held October 12, 2021, to ensure peace and security in Ekpan.

Consequently, according to the statement, a ten-member Caretaker Committee with Newton Onaodowan as chairman was put in place to run the affairs of the community pending the resolution of all issues.

Other members of the 10-man Caretaker Committee of the EDC are Onajite Awinoro – Vice Chairman, Matthew Emewakeme – Secretary, Increase Osusu – Auditor, Joseph Ukwesa- Organising Secretary, Isaac Etigbonaye – Financial Secretary, Onajomo Temabo – Welfare Officer, Uvwie Edenye- Treasurer, George Eburu – Publicity Secretary and Honourable Henry Biyibi – Council representative.

The Ekpan Development Committee is constitutionally vested with the responsibility as it concerns employment, contracts and all other community matters of interest.
