The Saudi Arabian government has said that 264 Nigerians who were deported to Nigeria on their arrival in the country on board Nigeria’s major carrier, Air Peace, “didn’t fulfil the entry conditions and requirements”.
The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in a statement on Wednesday said, “The passengers who were denied entry, and subsequently deported to their initial destinations, didn’t fulfil the entry conditions and requirements in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations of the Kingdom, as they submitted incorrect information to obtain a category of visa that doesn’t apply to them, which was discovered upon their arrival”.
The Saudi Arabian government had on Monday in a statement said it cancelled the visa of the 264 Nigerian passengers on arrival in the country from Kano.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement said it was “investigating the matter to see if any consular or aviation rules have been flouted”.
