The chairman of Ughelli North Local Government, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, has been berated for interfering with the outcome of the election into the Executive Committee of Samagidi community in Agbarha-Otor Kingdom of Ughelli North Local Government Area.

The chairman-elect, Oduesie Julius and twelve other elected executive officers in the election conducted on Thursday, March 13, 2025, slammed Olorogun Egbo in a protest letter by their legal representative, Oghenetega Ikpen, Esq. on behalf of Sufficient Grace Solicitors in Effurun, Delta State.

They accused the Ughelli North Council chairman of gross violation of a court order of March 11, 2025, which authorised the conduct of the general election for Samagidi community in Agbarha-Otor.

They also accused the Ughelli North Council, Olorogun Egbo of partisanship following the alleged failure of his preferred candidate in the election, which, according to them, was validly and peacefully conducted, winners emerged, and a new government now in place awaiting formal inauguration.

Oduesie Julius and the twelve other elected officials contended that those who failed in the election should seek redress from the court rather than the Ughelli North chairman arrogating to himself the power to determine those elected into leadership positions in the various communities in Ughelli North.

Other members of the newly elected Executive Committee of Samagidi Community in Agbarha-Otor, who endorsed the protest letter were Paul Ighosoyivwi (Vice Chairman-Elect), Jonathan Akpere (Secretary Elect), Greg Afokairushe (Assistant Secretary Elect), Ezekiel Udoko (Treasurer Elect), Ogheneyerhoovwo Onokpikini (Financial Secretary Elect), Mamoke Onojaharho (Provost Elect), Henry Azugo (Organizing Secretary Elect), Ogheneruna Osadjere (PRO Elect), Cecilia Onovugakpor (Woman Leader Elect), Eturhobore Akpere (Woman Leader 2 Elect), Murhoko Onaibe (Ex Officio Elect); and Wesly Orido (Ex Officio Elect).
