The prompt rescue of kidnapped students in Delta State within twenty-four hours demonstrates Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s determination to consistently keep the state safe and secured.

The governor’s communication strategist and head of Delta State Orientation Bureau, Dr Latimore Oghenesivbe, made the assertion while speaking as a guest of News Central Television via DSTV Channel 422 on Wednesday.

He said the state governor is a man of few words who loves to devote efforts to achieving time-bound results, adding that he worked tirelessly behind the scenes with the state police command and security agencies to ensure that nine victims were rescued speedily, which earned Oborevwori accolades from well-meaning Nigerians.

Oghenesivbe, attributed the rising spate of kidnapping and other forms of criminality across Nigeria to the anti-people economic policies of the federal government under President Bola Tinubu, suggesting that something positive should be done immediately to reverse or rejigg all draconian economic decisions of the APC party national government.

On the unfortunate Ukuama Killings, the EAC said Governor Oborevwori shall continue to work closely with the Presidency, the military high command and stakeholders to ensure that the perpetrators are fished out to face justice, adding that innocent people affected by the incident deserve compassion and timely assistance to stay alive.

He disclosed that Governor Oborevwori was never prevented from Okuama Community after the incident, saying that as the Chief Security Officer of the state, he can never be restricted from entering any community, urging the media and members of the general public to disregard such misleading speculations.

Oghenesivbe assured that at the appropriate time, the state government and the governor shall do the needful by evaluating the damage done to Ukuama community, and deciding what to do to restore normal life and economic activities to the area, describing Governor Oborevwori as a compassionate leader with a heart of gold.

On whether Deltans are happy with the state governor, the EAC said the various votes of confidence passed on Governor Oborevwori across the three senatorial districts, pointed to the fact that he has performed creditably well since he assumed office barely 10 months ago and counting.

He made reference to the N78billion contract awarded to construction giant, Julius Berger Plc, for the construction of three flyovers, roads expansion and pedestrian bridges at DSC roundabout, PTI junction, Enerhen junction and Effurun roundabout, among others, which according to him, attests to Oborevwori’s visionary and result oriented leadership.

“The timely rescue of the nine students kidnapped in Delta while travelling along the East-West Road axis in Delta points to the fact that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is doing very well in the area of security. He got it right within twenty-four hours.

“He is a man of few words who loves to achieve time-bound results rather than dwelling in the realm of procrastination as some leaders do. Nigerians applauded his effective behind-the-scenes coordination of operations and activities.

“Poverty and acute hunger occasioned by the anti-people economic policies of the federal government led by President Bola Tinubu are responsible for the escalating criminality and kidnapping across the country.

“President Tinubu and his team must take result-oriented measures to take us out of this excruciating poverty and low life. Naira has depreciated beyond human comprehension, it is painful.

“Okuama killing is unacceptable, but the state governor is working very hard behind the scenes to ensure that the needful is done for justice to be served, and for normal life and economic activities to be restored in the community and its environs.

“Governor Oborevwori is a compassionate leader endowed with uncommon grace and wisdom. He shall see to it that Okuama Community bounces back at the appropriate time,” Oghenesivbe assured.
