The political leader of Ward 10, Idumuesah in Ika North East Local Government Area and Executive Director, Operations of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service (DSIRS), Professor Frank Nwugo, Esq., has extolled the virtues of former Delta State Governor and PDP Vice Presidential Candidate in the 2023 elections, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, describing him as a leader, mentor, and a political encyclopedia whose legacy remains indelible in the political history of Delta State.

In a congratulatory message to mark Senator Okowa’s 66th birthday anniversary on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, Professor Nwugo praised the former Governor, who is the first Anioma son to occupy the office of Governor, for blazing the trail in public service with candour, humility, and refined godly character.

He highlighted Okowa’s storied political journey from being the first Secretary of Ika North East Local Government, to Local Government Chairman, Commissioner in multiple ministries, Secretary to the State Government, Senator, two-term Governor of Delta State, and ultimately Vice Presidential Candidate of the PDP in the 2023 general election  as a testament to his dedication and leadership excellence.

According to Prof. Nwugo, “Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s contributions to the growth and development of the Ika nation in particular and Delta State in general have resonated positively across all 25 local government areas of the state.”

He described the former Governor as a detribalized leader, a political colossus, and a role model whose humility and political acumen continue to inspire both the old and the young.

“His rise from the grassroots, from Councilor to the pinnacle of national politics is a case study in resilience, vision, and effective leadership.”

“I celebrate you, my leader and mentor, the Ekwueme of the Universe, whose words are his bond. You have remained a pillar and a source of support to the political class and to countless others. I am proud to be part of your political family,” Nwugo declared.
