The Delta State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has reacted to a statement issued by the expelled erstwhile State Deputy Chairman of the party, Mr Elvis Ayomanor, where he claimed to be the party’s State Acting Chairman.
The party likened the claim to a Nollywood script being acted by a confused impostor and PDP agent who earns his daily living from controversies.
The Delta State Chairman, Caretaker Committee, Prophet Jones Erue in a statement signed by the party’s Director of Publicity, Nick Ovuakporie, vows to sustain the enforcement of party discipline against anyone who runs afoul of the express provisions of the APC constitution no matter how highly placed.
While it described Ayomanor as an impostor and serial felon whose unruly, youthful exuberance and contempt for party rules, prior to his expulsion had reached a height that it could no longer be tolerated, the Chairman stated that the case of Elvis Ayomanor is to serve as a deterrent to other bootlickers and notorious anti-party moles, who are APC in the afternoon and PDP in the night.
The party statement further described Elvis Ayomanor’s claim as acting chairman as laughable and a clownish display of an infantile adolescent, desperate for public attention.
The statement also said the false claim of Elvis Ayomanor to the position of acting chairman of the party is totally ridiculous, a product of his fertile imagination, with reference to the case he instituted against the Party and the National Chairman, where he admitted that he was never sworn-in as a member of the State Caretaker Committee and therefore asking for an order of the court to direct the State Chairman who is the 15th defendant, to swear him in as a member of the State Caretaker Committee.
The party cautioned the gentlemen of the press not to fall into the antics of charlatans to deceive them into publishing statements that constitute legal breaches. It also called on members of the fourth estate of the realm to demand from Ayomanor to make available the letter appointing him as either Deputy State Chairman, Caretaker Committee or Acting Chairman of APC Caretaker Committee in Delta State.
The statement added; “every political party is governed by rules and regulations as contained in its constitution and a breach of same carries severe consequences as it was the case of Ayomanor”.
The party stressed that Mr Elvis Ayomanor’s term as State Deputy Chairman ended with the dissolution of His Excellency, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s NWC and was not re-appointed by the Governor Mai-Malam Buni-led National Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee. “We challenge him to avail the media and reading public his appointment letter or oath of office and oath of allegiance if any or comport himself in a good behaviour before the law catches up with him”
The APC noted further that it is aware of the undercurrent dealings of some of its members and their leaders with Governor Okowa and the PDP, stating that “the party will no longer tolerate those who are constituting nuisance within its fold especially those who are on the party’s surveillance having received credible intelligence report about their pacts with the PDP to cause disaffection in the APC before their eventual defection, a plan Elvis Ayomanor had hatched before his expulsion”.
