Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on Government Affairs, Hon (Chief) Peter Uviejitobor has described the Friday Appeal Court victory of his boss, Rt Hon (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori as an act of God.
Reacting to the development, Uviejitobor, a two-term member of the Delta State Assembly, said the will of God must always prevail no matter the efforts of the mortals.
The former lawmaker stated that through the ballot box, Deltans chose Sheriff Oborevwori to govern them for the next four years, stressing that any attempt to upturn the people’s mandate remains an exercise in futility.
Uviejitobor on behalf of himself, his family, and political support groups congratulated the Governor and his deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme for the victory urging them to remain focused on peace, progress, and good governance of the state.
The Special Adviser on Government Affairs acknowledged the steadfastness of the Governor in delivering the MORE agenda of his administration to Deltans, even as he expressed optimism that all his electioneering promises would be fulfilled.
He pointed out that the scheduled flag-off of construction of flyover bridges and expansion of roads in the twin cities of Warri and Effurun would further promote socio-economic development in the localities.
Uviejitobor acknowledged the commitment of Oborevwori to completing projects initiated by the previous administration in the state, saying that the Governor came prepared to advance Delta State to the next level of development.
The former Principal Officer in the State Legislature appealed against any further
distractions of the Governor, stressing that it was time for his opponents in the governorship race in Delta State to congratulate him and move ahead in the interest of peace and development in the state.
“It is time for the opponents to stop all these litigations and legal battles with the Governor. Elections have come and gone.
“Governor Oborevwori has no time to even check the time. As a grassroots politician, he came prepared for governance and should not be distracted. Every critical stakeholder should support him to succeed.
“We must create an enabling environment for him to advance development in the state. The future holds a lot of opportunities for Deltans with Sheriff Oborevwori as Governor of the state,” Uviejitobor stressed.
