As the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, primaries draw closer, Udu Constituency House of Assembly aspirant, Rt. Hon. Karo Goru has appealed to the party leaders and delegates to support and vote for him ahead in the primary election.
Hon Goru who made the appeal at Otor Udu stated that his aspiration is to consolidate on the achievements of past and present representatives of Udu Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly.
He noted that the constituency is in dire need of a legislator who is proactive, pragmatic, effective and well informed on legislative issues.
According to him, “Someone with a workable blueprint of both short-term and long-term developmental goals that will sustain the development of our local government in line with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)”.
He added that the legislator should be someone who is committed to unity, job creation, sports development, quality health care service, quality education, infrastructural development, youth empowerment programmes, soft loan for micro-business owners, students scholarship and security of live and property.
“I’m young and resourceful, I possess the necessary prerequisites and I’m fully prepared for the task ahead and my cardinal focus are quality representation, transparency, fairness and equity.
“I have a robust blueprint that will guide me to achieve my laid down agenda if given the mandate to represent our constituency in the hallowed chamber.
“I humbly appeal to all delegates to see beyond the pot of porridge that some aspirants might offer for their votes but rather should cast their vote for someone like me with the track record of keeping my words.
“As a matter of fact, I genuinely have your interests, the interest of our youths, mothers, and children at heart and will sacrifice all that it takes for your voice to be heard at the Delta State House of Assembly.
Interestingly and without hindrance, the Executive Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa has given you the right to choose who to represent you at the State level, first the delegates and secondly the electorates.
“I, therefore, urge you the delegates to harness the limitless advantage of the newly enacted Electoral Law for the forthcoming general elections in the best interest of our great party and the state at large,” Goru solicited.
