This is contained in the time-table and schedule of activities for the conduct of local government elections by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC).

DSIEC’s Chairman, Dr Jerry Agbaike in a statement, said party primaries by political parties will commence on May 6, 2024, and end on May 26, 2024.

The collection of DSIEC Forms 001 and 002 by political parties is scheduled May 21 to May 27, while electioneering campaigns by political parties will commence on Monday, May 27, 2024.

Voter education by the Commission will also commence on May 27, while June 5, 2024, has been set aside as deadline for the submission of personal particulars of candidates on DSIEC Forms 001 and 002 by political parties with sworn-in affidavits by each of the candidates at the State High Court or Magistrate’s Court.

Verification of personal particulars submitted by candidates to DSIEC takes place from June 7 to June 13, 2024.

June 12 is deadline for publication of personal particulars of each candidate by the Commission in the Ward/Constituency where the candidate intends to contest.

Publication of list of duly nominated candidates and collection of DSIEC Nomination Forms 05 and 06 will take place on June 15, while June 21, 2024, is deadline for submission of Forms 05 and 06 by the candidates.

The list of nominated candidates and persons nominating them will be published on June 24, 2024, while June 28, 2024, is deadline for withdrawal by candidates and replacement of withdrawn candidates by political parties

Sunday, June 30, 2024, is the deadline for submission of names of candidates’ polling agents to the Commission’s LGA offices.

Campaigns by political parties will end on July 11, while July 13, 2024, is the election date, with run-off elections (if any) billed for July 20, 2024.
