Senator Dafinone Applauds Joseph Abugu’s Emergence as President of Urhobo Renaissance Society

The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone, has extended warm congratulations to Olorogun Professor Joseph Abugu, SAN, on his emergence as President of the Urhobo Renaissance Society (URS), along with the newly inaugurated executive members.

In a congratulatory statement, Senator Dafinone described Professor Abugu’s election as both timely and significant, coming at a pivotal moment in the Urhobo nation’s collective quest for renewal, unity, and sustained progress.

“I warmly congratulate Olorogun Professor Joseph Abugu, SAN, on his emergence as President of the Urhobo Renaissance Society. The URS, guided by its noble motto ‘Egba R’Okugbe’, remains a vital rallying point for distinguished Urhobo sons and daughters across the globe—committed to unity, cultural preservation, and the advancement of Urhobo interests,” Dafinone stated.

He described Professor Abugu as a fitting choice for leadership, commending his unwavering dedication to Urhobo values and his impactful contributions to both academia and cultural discourse.

Senator Dafinone also paid glowing tribute to the immediate past President, Professor Hope Eghagha, for his visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to the society’s growth.

Furthermore, the Senator congratulated the newly sworn-in executive members, expressing confidence in their collective ability to advance the society’s ideals.

“Congratulations to the newly inaugurated executive members who will serve alongside Professor Abugu. I am confident this capable team will bring renewed energy, strategic vision, and a collaborative spirit to further the noble ideals of the Urhobo Renaissance Society.”
