The Supreme Court on Friday affirmed Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori as the duly elected governor of Delta State.
A five-member panel of the apex court on Friday dismissed the appeals filed against Oborevwori by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Ken Pela of the Labour Party (LP).
The panel ruled that the parties failed to prove their case that the election was conducted without substantial compliance with the Electoral Act in their bid to sack Governor Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Supreme Court resolved all the issues raised for determination, against the appellants and held that their respective appeals lacked merit.
