This was made known on Saturday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which announced new dates for the 2023 polls following Friday’s signing of the Electoral Bill 2022 into law by President Muhammadu Buhari.

National Chairman of the nation’s electoral umpire, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, at a news conference in Abuja, said governorship and state houses of assembly elections will take place on March 11, 2023.

With the new dates, all political parties are expected to conduct party primaries and resolve all disputes from their primaries between April 4 to June 3, 2022.

The submission of nomination forms by political parties is scheduled as follows: Presidential and National Assembly from10th June to 17th June 2022.

While Governorship and state assemblies from 1st July to 15th July 2022.
