Onoharigho joins APC, says PDP has become jungle city

Chief (Capt.) Anthony Onoharigho, a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, who on Monday, March 6, 2023, resigned his membership of the party has attributed his decision to the “insults, humiliation and blackmail” which became the order of the day in the party.

Onoharigho stated this Thursday, March 9, 2023, when he formally declared his allegiance to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

He was received into the APC by the Senator-elect for Delta Central Senatorial District, Chief Ede Dafinone, alongside other APC leaders at Oria Abraka Ward 3 in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

Onoharigho who pledged to work for the victory of Delta State APC governorship candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and the party’s House of Assembly candidates said, “The PDP which was once reputed to be a Party of discipline and order, literally became a jungle city, where, as in the animal kingdom, only the strong survived. In the circumstance, merit and seniority were sacrificed and thrown overboard, while mediocrity and favouritism were enthroned.

“Hard work,  dedication, commitment and uprightness were no more rewarded. This unfortunate development brought about such an unpleasant situation .where the boys of yesterday assumed leadership positions over their seniors and leaders without remorse or regard. Unfortunately, the situation went from bad to worse, by the day.

“As I move from darkness to light today, I am confident that my political life will improve again. I would want to assure the leadership of the APC, at all levels, that I will work hard, with my teeming supporters, to ensure victory for the APC in my Ward, Eithiope East and Delta Central in general, in both the Governorship and House of Assembly elections, just as we did in the  Presidential and National Assembly elections, where the APC won Ward 3 with a great margin of votes. This, I am proud to say, was made possible with the support of the good people of Ward 3 and Delta Central in general.

“I want to particularly use this medium and opportunity to thank and appreciate all the good people of Delta Central for voting overwhelmingly for the victory of Chief Ede Dafinone, our distinguished Delta Central Senator-elect. His victory is a victory for the entire Urhobo people. He is a very good man, with a heart of gold.

“I am confident that he will make the Urhobo Nation proud, just as his late father, the legendary distinguished Senator David O. Dafinone, did as our Senator in the Second Republic. I am talking confidently about Chief Ede Dafinone because we have been friends for decades. I pray for God’s protection for him throughout his tenure in the Upper Chamber.”

Other APC leaders who were also present at the formal declaration event include, Hon Evans Iwurie, Hon. Ochuko Halima Agoda, Sir. Henry Esiri JP, Chief. Julius Ogboru, Deacon Vincent Anho, and Engr. Endurance Obayeghre among other dignitaries.
