Ex-governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima says Bola Tinubu is the one that can defeat Atiku Abubakar in 2023 presidential election.

Speaking on the Friday edition of TVC Journalists’ Hangout, Senator Shettima who is the Director-General of the Bola Tinubu Campaign Organisation, warned that it will be catastrophic for the All Progressives Congress (APC) if Tinubu is not the party’s presidential flag bearer.

Shettima noted that with the emergence of former vice-president Atiku Abubakar, as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the dynamics have completely changed adding that if the APC is serious about winning the 2023 election then Tinubu remains the best option.

On the consensus presidential candidate being pushed by President Muhammadu Buhari, Senator Shettima said, “President Buhari that I know sufficiently, that I have had course to interact with if the president is to endorse anyone that person will be Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu”.

The former Borno State governor went further to say that Tinubu is very healthy, fit and capable to be the next president of Nigeria and jokingly added that Tinubu is not preparing for the Olympic games nor to carry a bag of cement.

He expressed optimism that Tinubu is prepared for the APC presidential primary on Monday and will emerge victorious.
