Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has approved the appointment of four persons into the State Executive Council.

Consequently, the Governor has forwarded their names through a letter to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The commissioner nominees are: Samuel Mariere, Sunday Onoriode, Godspower Ashiwu and Mike Okah.

Also forwarded to the state legislature are the names of Dr Samuel Ochonogor Chukwuneye and Kelly Ogheneochuko for screening and confirmation as member of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) and Executive Director, Delta State Board of Internal Revenue Executive respectively.

The Speaker of the state legislature, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, who read the governor’s letter during Tuesday’s plenary of the House directed the nominees to submit 35 copies of their credentials on or before Monday next week and appear for screening on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

The House adjourned plenary to Tuesday 5th July 2022.
