A frontline aspirant for the chairmanship position of Ughelli North Local Government Council for the forthcoming local government election in Delta State, Comrade Lucky Ofomukoro has expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori over his triumph at the Supreme Court.
A five-member panel of the apex court on Friday dismissed the appeal filed against Oborevwori by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and Ken Pela of the Labour Party (LP).
The panel ruled that the parties failed to prove their case that the election was conducted without substantial compliance with the Electoral Act.
Comrade Ofomukoro in a statement shortly after the court verdict felicitated with the Governor and expressed thanks to Deltans for their unflinching support to his administration.
He enjoined all Deltans especially members and leaders the opposition parties to join hands with Governor Oborevwori in realising his MORE Agenda for Delta State noting that the Governor will now be more focused since all election litigations are over.
“Congratulations to our amiable Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Executive Governor of Delta State and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) over the Supreme Court affirmation of Deltans freely given mandate to our Governor through the PDP at the poll in March 18, 2023, Governorship Election in the state and special thanks to all Deltans and non-Deltans for their reposed confidence on our great party, trust and standing tall with our Governor throughout this election litigations period.
“I want to appeal to our leaders on the other side to sheathe-their-swords in the interests of a greater Delta State, I am also appealling to Senator Ovie Augustine Omo-Agege, of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi of the Social Democratic Party, SDP and Mr Ken Pela of the Labour Party, LP and other aggrieved Deltans to accept the ruling in good faith and join hands with Governor Oborevwori in his working M.O.R.E Agenda.
“His Excellency, now that all election litigations are over, Deltans are eager for more of your attentions in continuity of your unabated developmental strides through the M.O.R.E Agenda in full implementation and your great inputs in the forthcoming Local Government Council Elections to ensure capable hands to compliment your goodwill to the people is replicated at the grassroots level of our politics for the people to enjoy more dividends of your democratic ruling. As I pray God blessings, King Solomon’s wisdom, knowledge and good health on you in your eight years journey of a purposeful leadership in Delta State,” said Ofomukoro.
