Ahead of the inauguration of a new government in some states of the federation, Delta State Governor-Elect, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori is in Abuja, the nation’s capital on an induction programme.
Rt Hon Oborevwori is attending the induction course together with all other re-elected and elected Governors across the country.
Asides from six states of Anambra, Bayelsa, Ekiti, Kogi, Ondo and Osun with staggered gubernatorial election dates, all the victorious candidates in the March 18, 2023, governorship contest in Nigeria who are to be inaugurated on the 29th of this month, are attending the induction programme meant to prepare the Governors-elect on the task ahead.
The induction course has as its theme “Governing For Impact: Building Sub-National Governance”, and it is being held at the Banquet Hall, State House, Abuja.
The programme is being organized by Nigeria Governor’s Forum in collaboration with some critical stakeholders and it is expected to end on Friday this week.
Delta-born Director-General, World Trade Organization, WTO and erudite professor of economics, Prof Ngozi Iweala is one of the lead resource persons at the five-day programme.
Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori was in high spirits on arrival at the venue of the programme as he exchanged pleasantries with his colleagues as well as with some other critical stakeholders in ‘Project Nigeria’.
Oborevwori who is the Speaker of the Delta State Assembly said there was no end to learning and expressed optimism that the five-day programme would be very impactful.
