The national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso has said that it would not have been a bad idea for Mr Peter Obi to be his running mate in the 2023 presidential election.
Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State who a few days ago dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Monday won the presidential ticket of the Labour Party, LP, after a professor of political economy, Pat Utomi stepped down for him.
Speaking Monday night on Channels Television Politics Today monitored by NewsNet Nigeria, Kwankwaso who is the expected presidential candidate of NNPP confirmed that Obi did meet with him in Abuja after dumping the PDP and they had discussions on national issues.
He noted that many Nigerians had initially speculated Obi would be his running mate until he moved to Labour Party, where he has emerged as the party’s presidential candidate.
Kwankwaso congratulated Obi and other presidential candidates of political parties saying the electorates would decide their next president in the 2023 general elections.
