The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Ethiope West Local Government Area Chapter in Delta State has paid a congratulatory visit to Chief Solomon Obareki on his recent appointment as Chairman, Ethiope West Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Obareki’s tenure as the substantive chairman of the PDP in Ethiope West elapsed on Thursday, May 2, 2024, subsequently appointed as the Caretaker Committee chairman to oversee the party’s affairs in the local government area for the next three months.

Recall that the National Working Committee of the PDP according to the provisions of Section 29 (2) (b) of the party’s Constitution on behalf of the National Executive Committee, approved the appointment of the executives whose tenures have expired in some state, local government and ward chapters to serve as caretaker committees in the affected states, LGAs and wards respectively.

The Chairman of CAN in Ethiope West, Bishop Dr Frank Ugor led the high-profile Christian leaders on the congratulatory visit to Chief Solomon Obareki.

The Christian leaders commended Chief Obareki for his outstanding contributions towards the growth and progress of CAN, as well as his sterling leadership that is characterized by his forthrightness, integrity and genuineness which earned him a pass mark in his passionate efforts and contributions to the overall development of Ethiope West.

They also acknowledged Obareki as a PDP leader, who has distinguished and positioned himself as one of the patriotic and trustworthy leaders in Ethiope West.

Consequently, the Christian leaders passed a Vote Of Confidence on the leadership of Chief Obareki and offered prayers to enable him to succeed in the new assignment and future endeavours

Responding, Chief Obareki appreciated the Ethiope West Chapter of CAN for the visit which he said was a privilege, adding that he will continue to collaborate with them and every other leader to bring enduring unity that will foster development in the area.

He used the opportunity to call on Christians across the local government area and the state to pray and support the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the successful implementation of the MORE agenda in the collective interest and betterment of the good people of Ethiope West and the entire state.

He congratulated Governor Oborevwori on his successful and impactful one year in office as Governor of Delta State with appreciable appointments, projects and other infrastructure in Ethiope West.

Chief Obareki expressed deep confidence in the administration of Governor Oborevwori, adding that, under the MORE Agenda, Deltans can attest to the good work of the state Governor in terms of human capital and Infrastructural development in the last year.

The PDP chieftain also wooed members of other political parties to join the ruling party in the state to bring more development as witnessed in Ethiope West since 1999, saying “With PDP, it can be better !!!”.

Those present during the visit were; Bishop Dr Frank Ugor (Chairman), Bishop Solomon Akpenoro, Rev. Dr Pius Iphurie, Apst Dr Godsborn Ovwa, PTR Collins Odiete, Rev. Milton Eguriase, Rev. Anthony Uje, Rev. Philip Emakpor, PTR Lawrence Akpofure, Rev. Jide Gabra, Bishop Dr. Samson Edje, Bishop Benson Jamogha, Apt. Dr. Lawrence Tashemi, Rev Joseph Uwegba, Rev Dr. David Erahon, Ptr. Daniel Azenu.
