Former governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has said that there is no disconnect between his eight years of administration of the state and that of his successor, the incumbent governor of the state, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
Okowa spoke at kwale, the headquarters of Ndokwa West Local Government Area during the inauguration of the Ultra Modern Secretariat built by the Chief Goddey Obi Nzete-led administration of Ndokwa West Local Government Council.
He particularly commended Governor Oborevwori for his continued funding of all projects started by the immediate past administration in the state.
The immediate past governor noted that: “One good thing is that all projects started by the past administration he has continued to fund. And for that, we must actually thank him (Oborevwori).
“There is no disconnect from the past. He is going to do what is right in addition to new things being done. I have been able to look at the 2024 budget, I think that definitely, it will be very impactful on the lives of our people.”
Senator Okowa used the occasion to reassure the people of Delta State that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is working hard and putting things in place to leave enduring legacies as governor adding that there is no disconnect from the past administration.
He said, “I want to reassure our people that His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is working hard, putting things in place and am very, very assured in me that he is going to do well as governor of this state.
“For those possibly getting worried, I believe that we need to give time. It takes time to transit, it takes time to be able to reach out and there is a lot being done.”
