The immediate past Commissioner for Water Resources Development in Delta State, Hon Samuel Mariere, says former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has successfully handed over the governance of the state to a strong capable team.
Hon Mariere, the former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, said the new leadership of Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori as Governor and Sir Monday Onyeme as Deputy Governor would usher in several positive developments across all sectors of the state.
The politician and lawyer spoke at Stephen Keshi’s Stadium, Asaba, the venue of the swearing-in ceremony of Sheriff Oborevwori and Monday Onyeme as Governor and Deputy Governor, of Delta State respectively.
Hon Mariere said the duo is tested, trusted, seasoned and experienced politicians who were great contributors to the positive narratives and several other success stories of the immediate past administration of Dr Ifeanyi Okowa in Delta State.
Hon Mariere explained that as a member of the 5th and 6th Delta State House of Assembly, he can attest that Rt Hon Oborevwori will deliver on his electioneering promises, saying that all he needs is the support of the people.
“I want to on behalf of my wife, family, and team supporters, congratulate His Excellency, Rt Hon (Elder) Sheriff Francis Oborevwori (JP) FICMC, FNIM, as he takes over the mantle of leadership as Governor, Delta State. We cannot thank God enough for His grace upon his life, family, and the state at large.
“Sheriff is indeed a child of destiny and as someone who had worked closely with him in the State Assembly, I can attest to his capacity to deliver. We felicitate him and his deputy on this great and wonderful achievement and pray God to grant him the wherewithal to advance our dear state to the next level of development in line with his MORE agenda,” Mariere stated.
