The chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council in Delta State, Olorogun Jaro Egbo says the construction of Children Cottage Hospital in Ughelli metropolis and 13 other completed and ongoing projects in the metropolis are aimed at redefining governance in the area.
Addressing journalists recently in office at the Ughelli North Council Secretariat, Olorogun Egbo maintained that his administration, in line with the MORE agenda of the government of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, is committed to transparency, accountability and the delivery of visible development projects for the people of Ughelli North.
Egbo debunked the allegation that he is the owner of Skyviaro Properties Development Company Limited emphasising that the company is not a registered contractor with the local government, nor has it been awarded any contracts under his administration.
“I have resigned from any involvement with this company, and there has been no breach of due process,” he assured.
The Ughelli North Council boss reaffirmed his dedication to good governance, saying “I want to put it on notice that I am committed to service delivery and infrastructural development of Ughelli North Local Government Area, therefore I made bold to say that no matter how they intend to disrupt my administration, I will continue to deliver on the RENEWED Hope and for MORE Agenda of the State Government to the good people of Ughelli North.
“My focus remains on delivering effective governance, upholding integrity, and providing service to the people.”
He stressed that a proper and objective investigation review would reveal the falsehood of the allegations levelled against him by his political detractors using some disgruntled members of his family.
On the giant strides of his administration in the ten-month tenure of his administration, Olorogun Egbo mentioned the renovations of key government offices, procurement of eight official vehicles for senior officials, and the construction of a children’s cottage hospital in Ughelli metropolis.
According to him, his administration is working on building accommodation for healthcare workers, an ultra-modern secretariat, and plans to establish police stations or customary courts across the seven kingdoms in Ughelli North.
Other include solar power projects which are underway, electrification of the chairman’s office and security lighting for the entire secretariat, the procurement of 300 benches for schools and the installation of a 500KVA transformer in Ekrabovwe.
