INEC National Collation Centre confirms Tinubu’s victory in Ekiti, reconvenes Monday

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, National Collation Centre in Abuja on Sunday night confirmed the victory of Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Saturday’s presidential election held in Ekiti State.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, had in the afternoon declared open the Collation Centre and also reeled out the process of announcing the results from the states.

Yakubu stated that everything will be transparently done and reminded Nigerians that they have to wait patiently for the process to unfold as INEC can give the authentic results of the elections.

The presidential election result from Ekiti State which was considered and confirmed a few minutes past 7pm saw Bola Tinubu of the APC coming tops with 201, 494.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, got 89, 554 votes, Labour Party, LP, 11, 397 votes and the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, 264 votes.

In the absence of other results, the INEC chairman announced that the National Collation Centre will reopen today Monday at 11am to continue with the exercise.
