The Social Democratic Party, SDP, in Delta State has continued to garner more support for its governorship candidate, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi and his running mate, Mrs Rosemary Ishioma Oshilim, ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Gbagi and Oshilim on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Oleh Civic Centre in Isoko South Local Government Area warmly welcomed thousands of decampees from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the All Progressives Congress, APC, and other political parties to the SDP.
The decampees mainly youths expressed their deep displeasure over the millipede administration of Delta by the PDP for the past twenty-three years promising to give the narrative with their overwhelming votes for the SDP in the 2023 general elections.
They acknowledged the business acumen, rich political experience and passion for good governance of Olorogun Gbagi and his running mate, Mrs Oshilim needed to grow the economy of the state.
While receiving the decampees the Governorship candidate Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi expressed delight at the bold step taken by them noting that it was a show of the confidence Deltans have in the party.
Olorogun Gbagi assured them that the party would carry everyone along in the scheme of things as the party is anchored on fairness equity and all-inclusive governance.
The deputy governorship candidate, Mrs Rosemary Ishioma Oshilim while commending the decampees called on women to be active in politics adding that the SDP is committed to women’s participation and inclusiveness.
The decampees were later given party cards by the SDP State Chairman, Ambassador Oke Idawene, flanked by other leaders including the SDP National Vice Chairman, Elder Fred Owotorofa.
Eralier, the Delta State SDP Governorship candidate, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi and his running mate, Mrs Rosemary Ishioma Oshilim were at the palace of the Odiologbo of Olomoro where they received royal blessings and prayers to succeed in their quest to govern the state come 2023.
