The senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, has again come under attack for his recent affront on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Rising from a meeting in Warri, on Tuesday, the forum of former chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta South Senatorial District, frowned at Nwaoboshi, a former State Chairman of the party over what it described as unbridled attacks on the governor.
In a communique signed by Vice Chairman of the Forum, Mr Amah Agbajoh and other members, the Forum passed a vote of confidence on the Governor over his handling of both politics and governance in the state.
“The forum of PDP chairmen of Delta south, reaffirm our unflinching, unwavering, priceless and complete support to Governor Okowa.
“The Forum of former PDP chairmen of Delta South, reaffirm our unflinching, unwavering, resolute and complete support of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa over the development of Asaba the state capital and other parts of the state especially the riverine communities.
“We frown at the mendacious propaganda deployed by Senator Peter Nwaoboshi who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress shortly after he was suspended by the PDP over his anti-party comments on the Governor.
“As former party Chairmen in our various local governments, we make bold to state that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has done well in developing Asaba and other parts of the state in the past six years.
“We state categorically that some of the projects he has completed in Asaba include the dualisation of Okpanam Road, Mariam Babangida Road, DLA Road, Jesus Saves Road, internal roads in Asaba and Okpanam, and stormwater drainage projects.
“Others include the upgrade of the Asaba Airport, Construction of multi-billion naira State Central Secretariat among others.
“We also wish to commend the governor on the ongoing construction of the Ughelli Asaba dual carriage road, completion of Ovwor-Olomu/Effurun-Otor Bridge and the ongoing works at the Trans-Warri Road.
“We, therefore, pass a vote of confidence on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the state chairman Barr. Kingsley Esiso and the party leadership and our state forum leadership led by Chief Godwin Ogadi.
“We pledge to continue to provide reasonable advice and mobilise members and party faithful to ensure victory for our party in the general elections come 2023,” the PDP chairmen said in the communique.
