Chief Andy Osawota, the pioneer secretary of the Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC) has pitched tent with the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.
Osawota, is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from Orogun community in Ughelli North Local Government Area.
NewsNet Nigeria gathered that Omo-Agege on Thursday evening received Osawota to the fold of the APC in Delta at Effurun GRA residence in Uvwie Local Government Area.
Joining Omo-Agege to receive Osawota were his running mate, Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi and the Delta APC Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie.
Osawota, a lawyer was a staunch member of the Delta Unity Group (DUG), which until Friday, October 21, 2022, gave strong backing to one of the PDP governorship aspirants in Delta State, Olorogun David Edevbie.
Edevbie on Friday lost his case seeking to void the nomination of Sheriff Oborevwori as the PDP governorship candidate in Delta State in the 20223 general elections at the Supreme Court.
Some political pundits predict that with the end of the legal battle between Edevbie and Oborevwori, more bigwigs in the PDP in the state are expected in the coming days and weeks to defect to the APC to join forces with Omo-Agege to wrestle power from PDP for the first time since 1999.
