The chances of Nigerian lawyer, politician and philanthropist, Prince Ned Nwoko, clinching the Delta North Senatorial District ticket, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2023 general elections have continued to blossom with more political gladiators throwing their weight behind his senatorial ambition.

Two former Speakers of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martins Okonta and Rt. Hon. Olise Imegwu, are among the major stakeholders of the PDP from Delta North working assiduously to ensure that Ned Nwoko gets overwhelming votes of the party’s delegates at the Senatorial primary scheduled for Sunday, May 21, 2022.

Okonta and Imegwu as well as directors and other key members of the Ned Nwoko Campaign Organisation witnessed the inauguration of a formidable team of Local Government Area Coordinators across the 9 Local Government Areas of Delta North.

The inauguration was the highlight of a meeting in Asaba, chaired by the  Campaign Organisation’s Chairman, Chief Dele Omenogor.

The Chairman commended the Coordinators for standing strong for Ned Nwoko, stating that he felt good about the love being showered on the people’s next Senator by Anioma people all over the length and breadth of Delta North. “I am glad because it has always been our dream that Ned Nwoko represents us at the Senate”, he said.

Administering the oath of allegiance to the Coordinators, the Director-General of the campaign team, Hon. Pascal Adigwe appreciated all and said every Coordinator and stakeholder involved in the project Ned Nwoko came by dint of hard work.

He stated that Ned Nwoko would continue to stand out better between him and his contender, affirming that they are all party men and there is no enmity between Ned Nwoko and Paul Osaji except that the job of the Campaign Organisation is to ensure that Nwoko wins Delta North senate ticket.

Dr Michael Nwoko, who is the Director of Contact and Mobilization unveiled before the coordinators the terms of reference expected to throttle the senatorial campaign, “We are in the strategic phase of the election which is Primaries. This is a very important moment as delegates’ engagement is a whole channel of communication necessary to enthrone victory for our foremost aspirant, Prince Ned Nwoko,” he said.

Another Director in charge of Strategic Contact and Policy, Dr Frank Nwugo, affirmed that Ned Nwoko is a popular and credible candidate.

His words, “He is ordained for this moment. I have the confidence he will do justice to the assignment of representing the people of Delta North. I am convinced every person from Delta North will be proud to have him represent us in the Senate”.

Also speaking, a  grassroots politician, Mr Asiuwe Emeka noted that Prince Ned Nwoko is a household name, expressing optimism that he will bring glory to the Anioma people as their Senator.
